As a therapist, my approach is rooted in integrating multiple modalities that draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), attachment theory, and neuroscience. My goal is to offer a holistic and client-centered approach that empowers individuals to heal and grow in a safe and supportive environment.
My niche has been supporting BIPOC or AAPI clients with trauma, depression, relationships, family issues, and parenting. My approach is specifically tailored to meet their unique needs. I understand the complex interplay between cultural experiences, societal pressures, and its impacts on mental health. I am committed to creating a space that honors and affirms their experiences.
IFS is a powerful therapeutic approach that recognizes that each individual has multiple parts within themselves that may be in conflict. Through a collaborative and compassionate exploration of these parts, clients can develop a greater understanding of their inner world and find healing and integration. I believe that this approach is especially beneficial for clients who have experienced relationship ruptures or who struggle with depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns.
EMDR is another modality that I use to support clients in processing and resolving traumatic experiences. This approach involves guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation that can help desensitize the nervous system and release emotional distress. EMDR is highly effective in treating trauma-related symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, and intrusive thoughts.
Including education about attachment theory and neuroscience is integral in my approach. I believe that our early attachment experiences shape our sense of self and our relationships with others. Teaching clients these principles support a healthier understanding of themselves and more awareness of these patterns can lead to profound healing. Neuroscience research has also shown us that the brain is highly adaptable and can change throughout our lives, offering hope for growth and transformation.
Overall, my approach is designed to support my clients in finding healing and growth through a collaborative and self-led process. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to take charge of their lives.
